Bonsai house design

Interpreting the Bonsai House at Brisbane Botanic Gardens had to balance sharing a complex story of cultural heritage and bonsai care, with the space’s strong architectural design. The solution design with Person Place Thing was to transforming the space into an art gallery. The space now features evocative quotes, hero bonsai stories, bold colours and a Japanese, ‘ema-inspired’ interpretive installation that invites visitors to consider bonsai as living art forms.
