Orang-utan Sanctuary

As part of the Trail of The Elephants Precinct, the Zoo’s orang-utans needed new home. Following a research trip to Borneo, the Orang-utan Sanctuary was developed. The exhibition won an Interpretation Australia of Excellence Award. The Zoopermarket was added later to advocate for Certified Sustainable Palm Oil and won a Zoo and Aquarium Association of Australia Education award.
